  • Founder, Sovereign Arts Group

    Joseph Clarke is a proud Gomeroi and Murrawarri man and the founder of Sovereign Arts Group, a First Nations-led organisation dedicated to elevating emerging artists and creating culturally safe platforms for music and the arts. He has curated and led major events including King Street Crawl and the MAYI Festival in Bourke, showcasing First Nations talent and strengthening community connections.

    Joseph’s work began in Bourke, where he helped establish the Centre of Excellence and Wellbeing and created a dedicated studio space that evolved into today’s Yellowbelly Studio and Café, run by Nakama Arts. His vision has always been to foster creativity, wellbeing, and professional pathways—whether through music, art, barbering, or barista training.

    Through Sovereign Arts Group, Joseph now manages artists and produces cultural projects nationally, building opportunities that honour community, creativity, and cultural pride.
